Job Description
Duty Station will be at The Dalles office.
This position will assist the project biologist with research on Pacific lamprey (eels). Duties include tagging, creeling and data collection/recording of adult lamprey in the Hood River and Fifteenmile Creek subbasins. May be required to work on the Deschutes, Warm Springs, or John Day subbasins. Working on PIT antenna arrays, juvenile lamprey density/distribution surveys and other work assigned. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. The successful applicant must arrive at work punctually, work in a safe manner, follow established protocols, and work well with others. Previous fisheries work desirable.
Requirements
Must be flexible in scheduling work -days (7 AM to 6 PM) and nights (8 PM to 4 AM), work perhaps some weekends and in all weather conditions. Must be physically able to lift and carry 5O lbs. Agility needed as working on uneven and slippery terrain will be required. Submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement and a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening. Required to have a valid driver's license, and be insurable for driving by the tribes.
