RN - Ambulatory Surgery | BLS ACLS PALS
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional perioperative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery setting. As a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise and adhering to professional ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety by following established protocols for infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications.
- Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families within established guidelines.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support accurate communication with the healthcare team.
- Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data efficiently to meet compliance standards.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and patient experience.
- Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Adapt positively to changes in healthcare dynamics and pursue ongoing professional development.
Education
Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Experience
At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
- Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Physical and Mental Requirements
This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is frequent, with occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
