The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is the nonprofit, applied research organization of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Job Summary
Systems Administrators provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for Information Technology systems, hardware, and software. They diagnose system issues, resolve technical problems, and ensure system availability and functionality to support end-users and business operations.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Information Technology systems, applications, and hardware.

Respond to system support requests, incidents, and service tickets to address user needs and concerns.

Diagnose system problems, errors, and performance issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.

Install, configure, and maintain system software, applications, and updates to ensure system functionality.

Document system support procedures, frequently asked questions, and knowledge base articles for user self-help and training.

Conduct system monitoring, performance tuning, and preventive maintenance to optimize system operations.

Provide user training, guidance, and support on system features, functionalities, and best practices.

Stay informed about system support tools, Information Technology service management practices, and user support trends.

Collaborate with Information Technology teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve complex system support issues.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor\'s Degree in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience: Four or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Master\'s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications (technical)

Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or 9

Proficient at using the Linux command line

Proficient at using command line file editors (vim, emacs, nano, etc.)

Familiarity with Linux files and permissions

Familiarity with managing Linux users and groups

Familiarity with Linux storage (EXT4 file system, LVM, VDO, etc.)

Familiarity with automation and change management tools, such as Ansible

LPIC-2, RHCSA, or similar Linux professional certification

Must be able to obtain and maintain Security+ or CISSP certification within 6 months of hire (DoD Directive 8570.1 IAT Level II)

Must be able to complete required annual technical training for assigned work roles and proficiency levels (DCSA Formal Training Program Requirement)

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
This job requires working knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures associated with IT systems design, installation and maintenance.

Salary Range: $75,751 - $110,316
