Housing and Residence Life is a department within the Student Engagement and Well-Being division, supporting on-campus residents across 49 halls, suites, and apartments with a team of professional and student staff.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of maintenance workers to ensure equipment, machinery, or instruments function reliably and safely and that facilities, plants, and buildings are in good working order.
Process work orders; prepare and maintain work-related reports and records.
Prioritize and assign tasks so that resources are used effectively and schedules and targets are met.
Coach and mentor maintenance workers, assist in diagnosing more complex problems, and train newer staff on operating standards and procedures.
Inspect completed work to verify repairs are correct and that machinery and equipment conform to specifications and safety standards.
Oversee daily maintenance activity; maintain preventive maintenance program.
Monitor proper use of equipment and supplies, conduct periodic inventories, and participate in selection and purchasing of equipment and supplies.
Provide input to budget development, funding priorities, and purchasing decisions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five to seven years of job-related experience
Three to four years of supervisory experience
Skills: Working knowledge of building maintenance processes and procedures; experience in at least one skilled trade; knowledge of work order management software; basic office computer applications
Salary
Pay Range: $27.32-$37.15/hr.
