About this Position

Join our team at UCP’s Adult Day Program in Quaker Hill, CT (on the border of Montville and Waterford), where we provide a safe, person-centered environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This full-time, first-shift position Monday–Friday, 8:45am–4:30pm focuses on community engagement, skill-building, and supporting participants with complex physical, cognitive, and medical needs—including hands‑on assistance with hygiene, toileting, and meals. Essential Functions

Individualized Care:

Provide dignified, person-centered care and support in accordance with each individual's plan (IP) and agency policies, assisting with daily living activities, mobility, and community participation.
Health and Safety:

Ensure the health, safety, and confidentiality of individuals by addressing emergencies, incidents, and medical concerns promptly and appropriately.
Skill-Building:

Facilitate skill-building and sensory activities to enrich participants' lives and foster personal growth.
Advocacy and Support:

Build rapport, model positive behaviors, and promote community inclusion and independence.
Transportation:

Safely transport individuals to and from programs, homes, and community activities using personal or agency vehicles.
Documentation:

Maintain accurate and thorough records of progress and required information using electronic systems.
Collaboration:

Work effectively with colleagues, communicate clearly, and respect diversity among individuals and team members.
Confidentiality and Ethics:

Adhere to HIPAA and agency policies, maintaining confidentiality and practicing professionalism at all times.

Requirements

Current driver’s license, auto insurance & clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check
Willingness to assist individuals with personal hygiene
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Education & Experience

High School Diploma (required)
Six months to two years related experience (desired but not required)
Working with people with developmental disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)
