American Hotel & Lodging Association Internship Program
For more than 100 years, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has served as the foremost representative of the U.S. lodging industry. This internship offers paid opportunities in government relations, membership services, and communications.
Program Details
Interns will be based at the headquarters in Washington, D.C. and will work a hybrid schedule: Tuesday-Thursday in the office. The program runs from June to August 2026, lasting 10-12 weeks starting June 8 2026. Interns are paid $25 per hour on a bi-weekly basis and receive a $75 monthly transportation stipend. Interns are responsible for health insurance, housing, and travel expenses.
Responsibilities
Support the Public Policy and Research team through legal, regulatory, and data-driven projects that advance association advocacy priorities.
Conduct legal and policy research and draft concise summaries of federal, state, and local bills and regulatory developments.
Assist in Capitol Hill briefings, draft research memoranda and letters, and provide data analytics.
Build and maintain policy-relevant databases, including tools that align hospitality properties with government stakeholders.
Contribute to broader research initiatives that inform strategic advocacy and member engagement.
Qualifications
Rising junior, rising senior, or graduate student.
Available for 10-12 weeks starting June 8 2026.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Strong interest in the hospitality industry.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Benefits
