Our client, a leading technology organization, is seeking a Software Design Engineer to join their team. As a Software Design Engineer, you will be part of the Data Platform Support team supporting critical infrastructure that processes vast amounts of data daily. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Required Skills

Big Data Platform Experience — Minimum 5 years - Cosmos (MapReducer), Azure data stack (HDI, ADLS Gen2), Spark/Scala.

SQL + High‑Level Programming Language — Minimum 5 years - SQL queries plus experience in C#, Scala, Java, or Python (flexible, not a deal breaker).

CICD, Debugging & Troubleshooting — Minimum 5 years - Strong debugging, monitoring, and engineering lifecycle skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize large‑scale data processing platforms using Big Data technologies.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement scalable data solutions.

Debug, troubleshoot, and improve existing data kwargs and systems.

Ensure data security, governance, and quality standards are maintained.

Contribute to code reviews and promote best engineering practices.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years' experience with Big Data platforms such as Cosmos (MapReducer), Azure data stack (HDI, ADLS Gen2), Spark/Scala.

At least 5 years' experience with SQL and high‑level programming languages like C#, Scala, Java, or Python.

Strong debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting skills with 5+ years of experience.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a focus on results and impact.

Ability to work remotely with flexible hours to accommodate time zone differences.
