We are currently seeking a
Line Lead – 3rd Shift
to join our team based in Eden Prairie, MN. This onsite role is responsible for leading production line activities, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and customer requirements.
This is a 3rd Shift position working from 10:00PM to 6:00AM, Sunday through Thursday. Hours may vary and include Friday based on business needs.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Equipment Operation & Line Performance
Set up, change over, troubleshoot, and operate production equipment to meet production schedules.
Perform and document operator preventative maintenance (PM) activities.
Ensure timely changeovers with 100% readiness and first-pass quality.
Assist with filler setup and line preparation.
Communicate effectively during shift hand-offs to ensure smooth transitions.
Utilize a "line stop" mentality for equipment, quality, or safety concerns.
Report major or recurring issues to maintenance promptly.
Quality & Compliance
Support and maintain Apex quality systems on the production line.
Pull samples and perform basic testing as needed.
Identify, report, and assist in resolving quality issues.
Ensure all cleaning, sanitizing, and documentation (batch records, test records, audits) are completed accurately and in compliance with standards.
Partner with Quality teams to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership & Training
Support Team Leads and Supervisors in developing a high-performing production team.
Train and coach employees and temporary staff on processes, safety, and quality standards.
Act as a certified trainer or work toward certification to support team development.
Safety & Work Environment
Promote and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
Identify and assist in resolving safety concerns.
Ensure employees follow safe work practices and procedures.
Continuous Improvement
Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S practices (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2–3 years of production experience required.
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous leadership or lead experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience in GMP/FDA regulated environment preferred.
Ability to obtain Apex Training Certification (Train-the-Trainer).
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic equipment maintenance.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, percentages, and averages.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment & Schedule
Indoor manufacturing environment; may be seasonally hot and humid.
Exposure to fragrances and raw materials associated with personal care products.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
3rd shift schedule with flexibility based on production needs.
Overtime may be required depending on workload and business demands.
