Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Senior Oil and Gas Engineer, function as a Field and Regulatory Specialist within the Division’s Southern District office.
Perform complex field inspections and conduct difficult geologic and engineering work.
Execute well mechanical condition evaluations, lithologic and structural analysis, formation fluid analysis review, and well stimulation index assessments.
Maintain and analyze chemical registry searches, create reports, graphics, and use modeling software.
Ensure compliance with Assembly Bill 211 and Public Resources Code section 3113, facilitating in-person witnessing of operations related to critical wells and priority “shall witness” wells.
Utilize computers extensively to perform calculations and generate detailed technical documentation.
Special Requirements
Medical clearance required prior to hiring.
Position is subject to the Department’s Conflict of Interest Code.
Applicants must attend an in‑person interview at the California Geologic Energy Management Division – Southern District Office, 3780 Kilroy Airport Way, Suite 400, Long Beach, CA 90806.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
