Job Description And Duties
Under the general supervision and work direction of the Senior Precision Electronic Specialist, the Seismological Instrument Technician I installs and maintains complex accelerographic and data communication systems in buildings. This work supports the monitoring and recording of seismic activity and related data for public safety and research purposes.
Eligibility: New to California state service must have taken and passed the examination for this classification. Current state employees without transfer eligibility must also pass the exam. Refer to the SEISMOLOGICAL INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN I exam bulletin.
Education: Qualifications may be met through education. Applicants using education must provide unofficial transcripts for foreign degrees and official transcripts for U.S. education. Official transcripts are required upon appointment.
Special Requirements
Subject to the Department’s Conflict of Interest Code.
Requires a valid Driver’s License.
Requires a medical evaluation.
Requires to be in-office.
Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. This position is contingent on budget approval.
