Project Overview
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope includes two LNG trains, two LNG Storage Tanks, one LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The project is situated along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) executes site civil and marine scopes of work on LNG projects.
Job Summary
In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Work Planning & Packaging
Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
Material Management
Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
System Turnover Coordinator
For Direct Hire
Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
Reviews and approves inspection test plans.
Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
Education And Experience Requirements
Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge And Skills
Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
Understanding of structural steel design and AISC code requirements.
Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and Bechtel database applications. Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
Knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving RFIs, Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office. Knowledge of work packaging.
Basic understanding of production management including scheduling.
Sound communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
Direct hire construction experience.
Additional Information
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including extensive walking in construction environments, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working on elevated platforms and uneven surfaces, and in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must be able to enter/egress the project area and use appropriate PPE as required for each task (e.g., harness, life vest, lift buckets).
