Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two LNG trains, two LNG storage tanks, one LNG carrier berth, and associated utilities and facilities. The project will be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self‑perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1
Major Responsibilities:
On a medium to large (PFE Tier I -
Leadership/Supervision
Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline.
Work Planning & Packaging
Coordinates with design on constructability issues.
Material Management
Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
Quantities
Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.
Safety / Quality Control
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
For Direct Hire:
Possesses responsibility for coordinating between Construction and Startup to ensure the various system walkdowns are performed, interfacing with the Startup Specialist as required to support component/system turnover and assuming responsibility (as required) for area turnover coordination as determined by the PFE.
Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Education and Experience Requirements:
Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience installing instruments and tubing.
Experience performing I/O and loop checks.
Experience in leading a team.
Experience managing subcontractors and a craft labor force is preferred.
Experience working on the U.S. Gulf Coast is preferred.
Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
