Maintenance & Operations Coordinator

Hilmar Cheese Company is seeking a Maintenance and Operations Coordinator to plan and coordinate routine maintenance and repair & maintenance (R&M) projects, ensuring plant availability and safety.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in Daily Approval and Daily Scheduling Meetings.
Actively review Company Maintenance Backlog to ensure timely completion of all work.
Participate in work prioritization to align with Company goals.
Participate in operational reliability improvement teams (PLAS, RCA).
Plan all activities through the Company’s SAP System.
Provide daily updates to Managers as needed.
Provide technical support and problem‑solving techniques to Operations and Maintenance continuously.
Support Maintenance Planners.
Implement changes ensuring Company requirements are met.
Complete annual OSHA required safety training.
Be a member of A/ERT, attend trainings, and respond to emergency situations.
Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Communicate verbally and in writing, and create presentations.
Work with vendors, customers, and employees.
Be on call 24/7 to support operations/maintenance, including off‑shift hours.
What You Will Need
High School Diploma and 6 years related experience OR Associate’s degree and 5 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years related experience OR Master’s degree.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, procedures, and problem‑solving techniques.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
What Will Put You Ahead
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years related experience OR Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience.
1 year of SAP experience.
Dairy industry experience.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The role involves periods of sedentary office work combined with frequent walking, standing, and lifting moderate weight. Workplace includes manufacturing and warehouse areas in temperature‑controlled and uncontrolled locations. The position requires wearing PPE and maintaining a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments.
