Converting Line Lead
Sofidel America, a leading manufacturer of tissue products committed to sustainability and operational excellence, is seeking a Converting Line Lead to join our Converting team.
The Converting Line Lead provides team leadership and coaching to all employees within responsibility. This position supports employee engagement and performance through active leadership on the converting line.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure Operators have resources and tools required for daily performance
Direct Equipment Operators in daily operations of the Converting Line, ensuring they have the necessary skills to be effective
Implement training standards and processes to support Overall Equipment Effectiveness delivery and TPM fundamentals
Manage daily schedule building, adherence, and attainment for employees
Conduct daily work to drive performance improvement
Schedule and facilitate team meetings
Communicate and track key performance indicators
Hold self and others to a high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, confined spaces, appropriate PPE)
Coordinate safety training and investigate safety incidents, identifying root cause
Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities
Assist in continuous improvement projects such as 5S and Kaizen events
Identify and drive preventative maintenance work needed for the area in combination with the planner/technical resource
Troubleshoot on Converting Line as needed
Requirements
Shift schedule: Day 2: 6:00am–6:30pm, Day 3: 6:00pm–6:30am, Day 4: 6:00pm–6:30am, 4 days off. Example: Day 1: 6:00am–6:30pm.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Paper Manufacturing environment preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Internal candidates must have completed Equipment Operator qualification levels 1‑4
Familiar with enterprise work order system required
Familiar with the Digital Control System for Machine Operators required
Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, personal protective equipment, etc.) required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, ParcView required
Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment
Able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid
Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (eye and ear protection, steel‑toed shoes, face masks, etc.)
Able to work a 12‑hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.
