Regional Field Service Technician
Advanced Technology Services – Waukegan, IL (Full‑time)

Responsibilities

Perform competent break‑fix and preventative maintenance, including observing equipment in operation, dismantling devices, removing defective parts, and conducting troubleshooting of electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.

Identify parts, supplies, and repair items as needed for equipment maintenance and repair.

Execute maintenance tasks with minimal instruction according to industry standards.

Collaborate with customer counterparts to carry out maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.

Set up and operate multiple machining operations such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts; perform welding tasks as required.

Comply with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.

Document work performed in service reports and applicable management systems.

Use industrial control systems to troubleshoot and analyze complex equipment, perform equipment maintenance, and resolve equipment problems.

Apply electrical, mechanical, and fluid power knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Participate in on‑the‑job training and technical self‑study programs for career development.

Follow all safety policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

Associate’s degree in a technical field with 5 years of related industry experience, or 7 years of industry experience without a degree.

Proficiency with basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

Working knowledge and experience with electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems in related fields; ability to analyze problems, synthesize solutions, and perform repairs.

Daily local travel required (within the Chicagoland area).

Desirable KSAs

Experience in preventative maintenance techniques, precision measuring, mechanical alignments, and general maintenance of applicable process equipment.

Exposure to programmable logic controllers, field devices, and electrical drive and motor systems.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Regularly stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; sit occasionally; lift and/or move more than 50 pounds occasionally; use close vision and color vision; occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock; work performed in a factory environment that is typically very loud and may involve exposure to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery surfaces.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $40.00 – $50.00 hourly
