Field Service Maintenance Technician Senior in Omaha

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

Performs expert level break‑fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices, dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and testing equipment.

Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items, evaluating alternatives to improve cost and reliability.

Independently performs maintenance according to industry standards.

Collaborates with customers to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventive procedures.

Sets up and operates multiple machining operations—lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools—to make and repair parts; may perform welding tasks.

Conforms to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.

Documents work performed in service reports and management systems, providing written explanations of observations and performance data.

Assists lower‑level technicians and leadership to project teams; delivers expert training and development.

Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in‑depth software/hardware and configuration problems.

Utilizes advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, observes trends, and makes recommendations.

Completes and conducts on‑job training and technical self‑study programs for career development.

Follows all safety policies, rules, regulations, instructions, and guidelines; maintains situational awareness and identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
Essential KSAs

High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

Associate’s degree with a technical focus and 10 years of related experience in a specific industry, or 12 years of experience in that industry.

Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; ability to analyze problems, synthesize solutions, and perform repairs.

Proficiency with basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.

Extensive travel required (local). Applicants may live anywhere within the continental U.S.

Desirable KSAs

Experience in condition‑based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.

Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces. The employee occasionally needs to sit and lift or move more than 50 pounds. The employee must use close vision. The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, electrical shock, hazardous materials, greasy or slippery floors. Work is typically performed in a factory environment that is usually loud.
