Salary
Pay rate is $9,075.24/month with an approximate annual salary range of $104,714 to $136,000.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining and repairing the fleet of equipment operated by BNSF.

Disassembling, repairing, modifying, manufacturing, overhauling, and troubleshooting roadway maintenance equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fuel systems, driveline components, and final/planetary drive systems.

Operating equipment and using a variety of manual, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools, as well as welders and cutting torches, to perform and verify necessary maintenance and repairs.

Working in a safety‑sensitive environment with diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), uneven surfaces, loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.

Adhering to BNSF’s safety regulations, rules, and policies, and participating in daily safety conversations.

Extensive travel to job sites across the designated seniority region and states is required.

Qualifications

Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H‑1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN non‑immigrant status).

21 years of age or older.

Able to work safely in the above working conditions.

Able to work the above shift patterns and hours.

Able to meet the travel requirements.

English literacy (reading, writing, speaking, listening).

Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs occasionally.

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License, minimum Class A with air‑brake endorsements or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment.

Able to visually distinguish colors such as red, blue, green, yellow, and clear light.

Ability to differentiate between verbal and non‑verbal sounds (signals, alarms, etc.) and comprehend verbal communication in the work environment.

Two years of verifiable mechanical work experience or training.

One year of verifiable training or experience working with gasoline and diesel engines on large, industrial equipment.

Three months of verifiable training or experience with electrical and/or gas welding.

One year of verifiable training or experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams and schematics.

Ability to use hand tools for holding, grasping, turning, and pulling.

Occasional ladder climbing and work from various heights, including making repairs on top of heavy equipment and trucks.

Ability to bend, lift, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
