
Paralegal

PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT – FAMILY LAW FIRM. Certified Paralegal required. Full‑time position with superior compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities
Screen potential new clients, run conflict checks, and complete the intake process.
Maintain attorney calendars, calendar deadlines, coordinate/schedule consultations, appointments, mediations, and hearings.
Draft, transcribe, revise, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other documents independently and under attorney supervision.
Correspond and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and courts.
Accurately maintain client files and documents electronically and in hard copies.
Draft discovery requests and responses, and determine the sufficiency of responses received.
Coordinate with process servers, experts, private investigators, and court reporters.
Obtain backup documentation for Financial Declaration and prepare Excel asset spreadsheet. Work with attorney and client to ensure accuracy.
Prepare court packets for hearings/trials.
Draft/revise affidavits (client, witness(es), experts, attorney’s fees, other).
Assist and anticipate documents for case progression, assist the attorney in hearing preparation, and organize all documents for filing.
Anticipate upcoming documents.
Conduct online research as necessary.
Monitor and maintain supplies, and maintain accurate administrative records.
Work independently with appropriate discretion to complete projects/assignments as directed.
Qualifications
Years of experience working in litigation, preferably in family law.
Experience organizing and maintaining electronic and hard file copies.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); extensive Excel experience essential.
Clio experience a plus.
Strong technological skills, including the ability to electronically organize, red‑line, and manipulate documents.
Ability to effectively manage deadlines and calendars.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree a plus.
3+ years of relevant legal experience for necessary litigation knowledge.
Compensation
Salary:
$60,000 – $65,000 per year. Health insurance, PTO, and retirement benefits.
