Tennessee Roadway Leader
Location: Brentwood/Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, or Memphis, TN. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Tennessee if currently out of state.
What You’ll Be Doing
Principal in Charge for all transportation planning, design, and plan production for our Tennessee locations (marketing and operations)
Be a practice builder – growing services, clients, and geography
Serve as the lead with key client and contract management
Recruit, develop, and retain Tennessee roadway staff
Manage transportation projects to meet financial and technical requirements
Write proposals
Participate in and/or lead interviews
Perform contract negotiations
Plan project work
Supervise the execution of work
Lead the Quality Control/Quality Assurance process for all projects
Prepare and deliver technical presentations
Participate in marketing and business development
What You Need To Have
BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
PE is required (Tennessee PE preferred)
15–20 years of relevant DOT roadway design and plan production experience (TDOT experience preferred)
Proven ability to meet DOT expectations, schedules, and budgets
Experience with DOT design methods, plan production, standards, and specifications
Proven leadership, communication, mentoring, and client liaison skills
Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening following federal guidelines
A post‑offer fit‑for‑duty evaluation may be required to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role
