
Seasonal Laborer – Facilities

McMinnville Water and Light has an opening for a Seasonal Laborer - Facilities. This is a temporary seasonal position for summer 2026.
This position assists the Facilities Department with the maintenance of buildings and grounds, primarily painting and grounds maintenance. The seasonal work period is approximately three months, from June through September, 40 hours per week. Typical work schedule: Monday-Thursday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
There is flexibility with employment beginning and end dates for college student schedules.
Examples of work: Employees will assist in maintaining grounds around MW&L's buildings and vehicle yard. This can include mowing, weed eating, pressure washing, painting, washing vehicles, cleaning windows, sealing the facility roof, clearing and hauling brush, and other grounds maintenance tasks as assigned. Help with routine building maintenance. Pick up, move, and/or deliver equipment, materials, and supplies. Some work may occur at other MW&L locations.
Seasonal laborers may also perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.

Job Related Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Entry-level, temporary position; landscaping or general maintenance experience is preferred, but not required.
Ability to communicate professionally and provide updates regarding the status of tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate effective time management.
Demonstrated initiative and follow-through in accomplishing work assignments.
Special Requirements
Driver’s license valid in Oregon, with acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical.
