Description
POSITION: SUMMER MAINETENANCE INTERN (Seasonal Position- 40 Hours)
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The landscaping intern assists in the day to day landscaping needs of the MTA facilities by performing a variety of landscaping maintenance duties, such as mowing lawns, clearing brush, power washing, painting, and using other yard equipment to maintain MTA outdoor facilities and grounds.
SUPERVISED BY: BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS SUPERVISOR
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in maintaining MTA buildings and grounds in top condition
Appropriately safely operate all equipment and machinery as necessary
Maintain good working relations with co-workers and supervisors
Perform other duties assigned
Maintenance; power washing, sweeping, and painting.
Gardening, weeding, watering, trimming, planting, and harvesting.
Event planning; marketing, hosting and event preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with use of a power washer
Experience utilizing painting equipment
Some gardening and weeding experience
Thoroughly experienced in the proper, safe use of tools needed to do the work described in the job description.
Must be a high school senior or a college student
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience in performing facility landscaping
