Job Title: Journeyman Electrician – Data Center Commissioning
Location: Texas
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract (as applicable)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician with 3–5+ years of on‑site experience to support a data center project currently in the commissioning phase. This role involves working closely with senior controls engineers to perform critical electrical testing, verification, and energization activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical point‑to‑point checks to verify system integrity and proper installation
Conduct pre‑energization inspections and checks prior to system startup
Support safe energization of power distribution units (PDUs) in accordance with OSHA and NFPA standards
Assist controls engineers during commissioning activities and system validation
Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve installation or commissioning issues as needed
Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation of work performed
Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and method of procedure (MOP) documents
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and project requirements
Carry out general Journeyman electrician duties as required on‑site
Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Electrician License in the State of Texas (required)
3–5+ years of hands‑on, on‑site electrical experience
Experience working on data centers or large‑scale industrial/commercial projects preferred
Familiarity with commissioning processes and procedures is a strong asset
Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA standards and safe work practices
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project teams
Work Environment
Active construction/commissioning site environment
May require extended hours, weekends, or shift work based on project needs
Preferred Skills
Experience with power distribution systems and switchgear
Exposure to controls systems and PLC‑based environments
Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
