Location: Middletown, DE. Position: Material Handler in the Filtration team.
Job Description: The Material Handler is responsible for moving raw materials, finished goods, scrap materials, equipment and other miscellaneous materials within the plant.
Shift: 2nd shift, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (includes weekends).
Primary Responsibilities
Follow schedule/instructions for material movement.
Operate a powered industrial forklift truck and other material handling equipment.
Secure proper lifting attachments to the forklift.
Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials.
Drive company box truck between warehouse storage areas.
Load and unload materials on pallets within the warehouse.
Organize and store materials efficiently and attach identifying labels.
Record all materials moved and shipments into Syteline/WMS using a barcode scanner.
Ensure production demands are met and inventory accuracy is maintained.
Assist Shipping/Receiving department with loading/unloading trucks.
Participate in Warehouse 5S and PPI initiatives and/or programs.
Maintain clean and organized work areas and vehicles; complete 5S/housekeeping daily shift checklists.
Participate fully in maintaining physical inventory count.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions; plan work priorities.
Maintain a good driving record; work independently with little supervision; ability to work overtime if required.
Use a computer (e.g., Word, Excel, Internet, and manufacturing software); perform basic arithmetic.
Communicate effectively with workers and supervisor.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out complex multi-step instructions.
Deal with problems and non-standardized situations with multiple variables.
Prior experience operating powered industrial forklift trucks, electric pallet jacks, hoists, Hi-Los, and other industrial lift equipment.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Prior forklift driving experience.
Prior warehouse experience.
