Community Midwife

NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Craigs, NY, United States

About the role
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to become part of the Inner Moray Firth Community Midwifery Team. This team is based in the Midwives hub at Rowans Unit New Craig’s site in scenic Inverness. On occasions the post may also include working with colleagues within the other teams in Inner Moray Firth. The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach, be a good team player and have excellent time management skills. Community experience is desirable but not essential and is suitable for Band 5/6 to apply. There are plans in place to develop the community midwife hub incorporating a day assessment unit where Midwives will have the opportunity to be part of this new venture and work in a supportive dynamic team.

Location
Inverness is a great location if you enjoy both outdoor pursuits and culture & is located a short distance from the Airport where flights run regularly to London, Birmingham, Bristol and Ireland. We are also in the perfect place to access the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, tour around the North Coast 500 and visit some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches whilst doing an island hop to some of the neighbouring islands.

Service and commitment
We provide a 7‑day midwifery service and there is an on‑call commitment required for the provision of a Home Birth/Domino service within the Inner Moray Firth community midwifery teams.

Requirements
Community experience is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be flexible, a good team player, and have excellent time management skills.
