Role Overview
In this role, you'll serve as the

Planner/Scheduler

supporting the Desert Housing Management Team. Within the team, this position will support the staff who perform maintenance on vertical structures and residential facilities by establishing an online work order system, planning and scheduling work orders related to preventive and corrective maintenance for internal and external workforces, developing job plans and scopes of work, and providing maintenance reports via the Maximo system.

This is the journey‑level position performing Planner/Scheduler job duties supporting maintenance, operations, and construction for Desert housing and recreation. This position will create and manage resident requests, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks, working with internal and external resources to complete assigned tasks.

Incentive Pay Program
The incentive pay program will be set up to provide a Desert Branch Assignment Premium to qualifying employees:

5% for all employees assigned to Gene Camp or Intake.

15% for all employees assigned to Hinds Pumping Plant, Eagle Mountain, or Iron Mountain.

What You’ll Do
Working closely with the Operations and Maintenance Managers, the Planner Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work and projects performed in the Desert Housing Management team. Responsibilities include coordinating between operations and maintenance organizations, maintaining appropriate records and files of completed and ongoing maintenance work and projects, interfacing daily with maintenance managers and employees during planning and scheduling activities, researching and analyzing a variety of issues to support maintenance and operations, and developing or preparing routine and ad‑hoc reports.

Employment Standards Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and five years of journey‑level experience in a relevant trade or craft.

Relevant trade or craft is defined as work experience in a public utility such as water department, conveyance & distribution, treatment plant, sewer, gas, electric, oil, etc.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registration Requirements
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
