
PLC Programmer and Systems Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer / Operator
to support and optimize automated production lines. This includes SPM (Special Purpose Machining) equipment developed in China. These equipment are made to MES’s proprietary design for high volume manufacturing of components, which go into Re-Electrification and Data-Center applications.
This role is critical in launching manufacturing in Ohio and over time, globally. This individual will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement through advanced control systems and data-driven insights.
You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop, monitor, and enhance PLC-based systems that power modern manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and implement PLC control logic (Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
Create and maintain I/O configurations, wiring diagrams, and system documentation
Monitor plant operations via PLC systems
Track key parameters such as speed and distance
Operate and adjust equipment through Delta PLC interfaces
Diagnose and resolve system faults to minimize downtime
Perform preventive maintenance and ensure system reliability
Integrate PLC systems with SCADA, HMI, and industrial communication networks (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and deployments
Reporting & Documentation
Install sensors and IoTs to get productivity data from machines in addition to OEE, Yield, and Scrap.
Maintain detailed shift logs, alarms, and performance data
Ensure accurate documentation of all system changes and configurations
Work with project managers, process engineers, and plant personnel
Support training for operators on PLC-controlled systems
Drive efficienty improvements using real-time data insights
Ensure all safety protocols and interlocks are functioning
Respond promptly to alarms and emergency conditions
Qualifications
Required:
3–5+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation
Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
Experience with SCADA and HMI systems
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
Experience with Delta PLC, Drives, a Plus
Experience working with Chinese equipment and vendors, a Plus
Strong Troubleshooting and analytical skills, a must
