
Electronics Technician - 3rd Shift

Location: Hampton, Virginia.
Job Summary
Devises, selects, sets up, and operates electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operation and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translates test data for engineering personnel.
Performs PLC troubleshooting on control systems to quickly identify and resolve PLC faults.
Shift: 11:30 pm‑7:30 am (Mon‑Fri, 3rd shift).
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Ability to read and follow work instructions.
Record data manually or by computer as required.
Selects, installs, calibrates, and checks sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry, and develops specifications for nonstandard apparatus according to engineering data.
Troubleshoots control logic through PLC interface to isolate and repair fault conditions.
Installs or directs technical personnel in installation of units in test chambers or other test facilities.
Conducts preventive maintenance on automation equipment, including sensors, actuators, and motor drives.
Documents troubleshooting steps, corrective actions, and system changes for future reference.
Operates test apparatus during test cycles to produce, regulate, and record effects of conditions such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration.
Analyzes and converts test data to usable form, prepares graphs and written reports, and plans test programs.
Uses computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce graphs.
Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines, including regular attendance and occasional overtime.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations, frequency distribution, reliability and validity analysis, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle multiple abstract and concrete variables.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 5 years industrial or manufacturing experience.
Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship not available.
Position entails access to export‑controlled items; must be able to lawfully obtain access.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
