Your Responsibilities
Assisting the maintenance team with routine maintenance and repairs
Commissioning, optimizing, and stabilizing coating processes for optical components (e.g., anti-reflective coatings, mirrors, filters, or functional coatings)
Supervising, maintaining, and further developing vacuum coating systems (e.g., PVD, IAD, IBS, magnetron sputtering, E-beam)
Planning, conducting, and evaluating process experiments (DoE) to improve coating properties and process stability
Supporting production and engineering in the event of process deviations, troubleshooting, and root cause analyses
Creating and maintaining work instructions, process specifications, and documentation
Environmental/climate testing followed by evaluation of optical functional coatings
Close collaboration with development, quality assurance, maintenance, and manufacturing
Your Profile
Technical training with relevant professional experience; certified electrician, physics laboratory technician, or equivalent
Several years of experience in optical thin-film coating or vacuum process engineering is a plus
In-depth knowledge of vacuum technology, thin-film physics, and coating processes
Experience with optical measurement techniques (e.g., spectrophotometry, ellipsometry) is desirable
Analytical thinking, a structured approach to work, and strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work well in a team as well as independently and responsibly
Good written and spoken German and English skills
