Responsibilities
Assist with daily living activities including health and hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, recreation, and documentation.
Prepare shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress reports.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of the individuals served.
Physically support and lift up to 75‑100 lbs. as required.
Use protective equipment (latex gloves, masks, eyewear, gowns) and manage exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
Drive Devereux vehicles for business purposes as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (diplomas acquired outside the US must be evaluated).
At least one year of human services experience with children, adolescents, and adults.
Minimum age 21 years.
Valid driver’s license.
Empathetic, team‑oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, and knowledgeable about behavior management theories and positive reinforcement.
Ability to complete required new hire orientation and Safe and Positive Approaches training.
Physical Requirements
Significant walking, sitting, standing; occasional lifting and resistance up to 100 lbs.
Normal hearing and vision; occasional computer use.
Work Environment
Works in adequately lighted and ventilated areas with possible temperature fluctuations.
Uses protective equipment including latex gloves, facial mask, protective eyewear, and gowns.
Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
Engages in physical aspects of Safe and Positive Approaches.
