Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Optometrist to join a mission-driven outpatient clinic in Sacramento, CA. This is a flexible opportunity ideal for professionals passionate about delivering high-quality eye care to underserved and diverse patient populations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity, focus, coordination, and perception assessments
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and vision disorders
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as refraction, visual field testing, pupil and motility exams, slit lamp exams, ophthalmoscopy, gonioscopy, and tear function testing
• Provide treatment plans and therapeutic interventions to preserve or improve vision
• Educate patients on eye health, contact lens care, and preventive practices
• Maintain accurate documentation using EHR systems
• Support and train clinic staff on vision screening procedures
• Follow infection control protocols and clinic safety standards

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• Active and unrestricted California Optometry license
• Glaucoma certification (preferred)
• Current BLS certification
• 1-2+ years of clinical experience, preferably in community health or underserved settings
• Strong knowledge of ocular disease management and diagnostic equipment
• Proficiency with EHR systems

Language Skills (Preferred):

• Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish, Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto)
• Excellent communication skills to serve diverse patient populations
