Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and organized School Bus Dispatcher to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations, communicating with drivers, and ensuring safe and efficient service. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to providing excellent support to both drivers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and dispatch drivers for daily routes, trips, and charters
Monitor routes and adjust schedules as needed due to traffic, weather, or other factors
Maintain clear communication with drivers via phone and radio
Respond to issues or emergencies in a timely and professional manner
Assist with scheduling, route planning, and driver assignments
Maintain accurate records of routes, driver logs, and incidents
Provide customer service support when needed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment
Basic computer skills and ability to learn dispatching software
Must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 30 days of employment (company will assist with training)
Must be able to pass background checks and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
Previous dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience
Familiarity with school transportation operations
Schedule
Full‑time position
Split shifts may be required (morning and afternoon routes)
Assist with coverage of routes and trips as needed
