Responsibilities
Conduct on‑site licensure inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys in long‑term care facilities.
Investigate complaints related to abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Write detailed inspection reports outlining deficiencies, recommended remedies, and supporting narratives.
Participate in team surveys and inspections, and accept assignments as needed.
Conduct exit conferences with facility staff, advising on corrective action plans.
Visit facilities to verify resolution of previously cited violations.
Perform quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others.
May testify at hearings or court proceedings to provide information on regulatory findings.
Complete referrals when appropriate.
Qualifications
Four‑year degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).
Experience in conducting investigations related to quality outcomes.
Experience in quality assurance/compliance and oversight/auditing (preferred).
Experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred).
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in operating personal computers and software for report writing.
Good interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations.
Professional judgment and sound decision‑making ability.
Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of program regulations, procedures, and survey techniques.
Knowledge of acceptable professional standards of care.
Skill in operating personal computers and writing reports.
Ability to integrate complex regulatory concepts.
Ability to establish effective working relationships.
Licensure & Certifications
Valid driver’s license.
Travel & Work Hours
Requires up to 80% travel, mainly during the day; occasional overnight and weekend travel may be required.
Must have reliable transportation.
Work week may be compressed (10‑hour days Monday‑Thursday, Tuesday‑Friday, or Friday‑Monday).
