Position Summary: Service Technician II
As a Service Technician II, you independently manage on‑site service calls, installations, and technical support for AVDG clients' audiovisual systems. You demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities across multiple AV platforms, lead installation projects, and serve as a technical resource for Level I technicians. This role requires proven field experience, the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with minimal supervision, and excellent client relationship skills to represent AVDG professionally on‑site.

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose and resolve complex audiovisual system issues on‑site, including conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, training facilities, and collaboration spaces

Lead installation projects including equipment mounting, cable termination, rack building, system integration, and commissioning of AV systems

Perform advanced troubleshooting of Crestron, Q‑SYST, Extron, and other control systems, identifying issues in programming, configuration, and hardware

Upload, download, and make minor modifications to control system programs to resolve client issues and optimize system performance

Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance visits, performing system health checks, updates, and proactive repairs

Provide detailed end‑user training to clients on operation and best practices for their AV systems

Mentor and provide technical guidance to Service Technician I staff, reviewing their work and supporting their skill development

Create detailed service reports documenting work performed, parts used, system configurations, and recommendations for system improvements

Excellent client communication and relationship‑building skills with professional demeanor on‑site

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing job site conditions

Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with a variety of personality and cultures is mandatory

Detail‑oriented approach to installation quality, system documentation, and service reporting

Self‑motivated with commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Industry certifications such as: Biamp Tesira Forte, Q‑SYST level 1, Dante Level 1, Extron EAVA, and CTS are required. Refer to L&D guide for more details

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or Associate's degree strongly preferred. 3–5 years of experience in the AV integration industry with proven field service and installation expertise.

Strong working knowledge of Crestron, Q‑SYST, Extron, or similar control systems with ability to troubleshoot programming and configuration issues. Proficiency with AV test equipment including signal generators, multimeters, cable testers, and diagnostic tools.

Excellent customer service and communication skills with ability to interact professionally with all levels of client organizations.

Self‑directed with strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation as needed.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required to client sites when necessary and conferences/training events as applicable

Travel time compensated under a governing policy; more details available upon request

Valid Driver's License with no criminal record required

Valid passport preferred for potential international travel

Pay Rate
Pay Rate: $35‑45/hr depending on background and experience.
