Job Summary
FULL‑TIME ROTATE
The
Food Service Worker
performs various jobs for patient food preparation.
Responsibilities
General Functions:
Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering
Assembles patients’ trays
Chops, slices and peels food
Transports carts to and from the different units
Delivers trays and snacks to the patient
Transports food to other areas as needed
Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine
Cleans and sanitizes dishes
Operates, cleans and sanitizes necessary equipment
Sweeps and mops all areas of the department
Collects and disposes of trash
Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned
Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe work environment
Addresses patient population‑specific needs
Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Able to read, write and understand the English language.
PREFERRED EDUCATION : High School Graduate or equivalent.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : 1 year in patient‑feeding food service establishment.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE : ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.
