Main Duties & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring all materials required for production are accurately managed, delivered, and controlled to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role focuses on supplying resins, colorants, and other direct materials to the production floor, while maintaining proper inventory control within the ERP system. Responsibilities include staging materials at injection molding machines and dryers, verifying correct material usage, supporting color changes and material changeovers, and safely moving bulk materials such as Gaylords. The Material Handler also manages incoming shipments, coordinates material storage and retrieval-including injection molds-and supports internal material transport to keep production running smoothly.
This position is for 3rd shift, Hours: 11:30pm - 8:00am Monday - Fridays with some weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities
Set up and maintain resin handling systems, including dryers, hoppers, and injection molding machines
Ensure continuous material flow by monitoring dryers, filling hoppers, and preventing shortages
Perform material changeovers, including color changes, cleaning, and filter maintenance
Accurately track and document material usage, including logs, labels, and certifications
Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials throughout the facility
Maintain inventory accuracy in the ERP system, including issuing, returning, and locating resin and molds
Stage, transport, and store injection molds to support production readiness
Support shipping and receiving by verifying, labeling, and organizing incoming and outgoing materials
Maintain cleanliness of production, warehouse, and cleanroom areas while following safety and regulatory requirements (including ISO standards)
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing or material handling environment
Forklift certification required
Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is $20-23/hour
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and competencies.
