Our ideal candidate is eager to learn, grow and develop within our Payroll Team. You’ll use your interpersonal skills to communicate regularly with clients and employees from a variety of industries, many of whom are multi-state, helping them solve problems and ensuring their pay is accurate, timely and in compliance with government regulations. Working for a Best of HR company, you’ll be supported by a team of Payroll Experts who work collectively to help you answer questions and provide top client satisfaction.

This is a full-time, in-office position at our headquarters in Sandy, UT.

Responsibilities

Performs basic payroll operations for multiple clients, including wages, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholdings.

Manages workflow to ensure data submitted by client is correctly reconciled prior to finalizing payroll.

Processes accurate payroll within Stratus HR’s and clients’ required timelines.

Answers client and employee phone calls and instant messages.

Completes and sends Verification of Employment forms and various requests from regulatory agencies.

Enters garnishments and child support data.

Assists with mail and FedEx shipments for payroll delivery.

Researches and resolves client/employee issues and questions.

Provides ongoing support and resolves issues and questions from clients, employees, and coworkers while providing a high-quality service.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma

BA/AA degree in Accounting, Finance or other Business-related field, preferred.

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required

Highly experienced in Microsoft products

Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative

Microsoft Office skills

Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize tasks

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

High degree of professionalism and ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

Ability to learn Stratus System software

Strong work ethic and team player

Additional Information
Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit at a desk while working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.

Persistent typing and answering client/employee phone calls.
