Job Summary
Mohawk Industries is seeking a Lift Truck Operator II for the Dalton, Ga area. The role involves operating gasoline- or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklifts and/or elevated platforms to move materials, following standard procedures and under general supervision.
Responsibilities
Operate a man-up truck.
Operate gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams, swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Move pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers.
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, and replacing liquefied-gas tanks.
Complete daily Vehicle Condition Reports.
Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices.
Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
Weigh materials or products and record weight and other production data as required.
Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
Record quality and output measures and complete any other necessary paperwork.
Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
Follow all established standard operating procedures.
Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
No prior experience required.
Reads and writes in standard English and is proficient in basic math calculations.
Successful completion of all required on-the-job training.
Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.
Effective team member with good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Frequently required to reach, handle, stand, walk, sit, and stoop.
Occasionally required to kneel.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds regularly.
Must work 12‑hour shifts either day or night as scheduled, including weekdays or weekends.
Work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles, and noise.
Required standing more than two thirds of the time.
