
Production Line Operator

This position is responsible for the efficient operation of a specific line or work area in the production department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Learn and maintain all documentation required and barcode system for production reporting
Prepare to pass the Job Certification Test for level “C” within 90 days from start date
Maintain operation of multiple lines, including loading gaskets and packaging end product for shipment
Prepare packaging materials
Visually inspect product for quality control purposes
Measure and record pipe dimensions as directed
Make adjustments on bellers and printing equipment as needed
Move bundled pipe from work area (scrap and good product)
Assist in production line start-up activities and changeovers
Cut and band scrap as directed
Report any equipment malfunctions, product defects or unsafe conditions immediately
Work as a team with other personnel
Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
High school diploma preferred; no prior experience or training required
Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups (employees or customers)
Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and handle varying conditions; interpret instructions in various formats
Perform safety and housekeeping tasks per plant THM/Safety policy
Physical demands: regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk and hear; sit occasionally; stand and walk frequently; lift or move up to 50 pounds; vision for close and distance focus
Work environment: plant environment with weather exposure, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, occasional wet/humid conditions, loud noise; proper PPE required
Physical Demands
Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk and hear; sit occasionally; stand and walk frequently; lift or move up to 50 pounds
Vision: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
Production plant with exposure to weather, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, occasional wet/humid conditions, and loud noise; personal protective equipment required in designated areas
