Job Summary
The work of a Ramp/Warehouse Agent includes loading and unloading of cargo (mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material) on and off aircraft; transporting cargo between terminals and aircraft; ramp transfers of cargo where required; receiving, delivering, and handling freight and company material; export at designated express docks; mail and baggage in the outbound baggage room; completion of forms and messages related to the functions described. The role includes cleaning and servicing cabin interiors (including cockpit and lavatories), draining lavatories, handling and installing passenger service cabin furnishings and supplies, transporting furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft; assisting in loading, unloading and racking drums; de-icing aircraft; clearing aircraft windshields; pushout/two aircraft and related guide functions; connecting/removing ground power and ground start units. May be required to clean exterior of aircraft with specialized cleaning fluids and to perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities. May be assigned to monitor facility security and perform routine automotive repairs and maintenance as needed. Comply with site security procedures and report security breaches or non-compliance as required.

Responsibilities

Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions (jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise).

Load and unload aircraft cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers with/to aircraft.

Drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs. in areas congested with aircraft and other vehicles, and position vehicles up to aircraft requiring depth perception and color vision.

Engage in push-out of aircraft and provide guiding support to drivers during push-back procedures.

Transport cargo to and from aircraft using a 3,000 lb vehicle in congested areas.

Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destination.

Assist with ground operations during aircraft push-out and towing, and ensure proper communication with cockpit.

Handle water hose connections and overhead electrical cables to/from aircraft.

De-ice aircraft at heights up to 20–80 ft, and spray glycol on wings and fuselage as required.

Minimum Requirements

HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent

Must be at least 18 years of age

Valid driver's license

Ability to communicate effectively with others

Preferred Skills

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently

Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Ability to work in a high-noise environment

Ability to push, pull, and lift bags weighing up to 70 lbs onto or from a conveyor
