Job Summary
The work of a Warehouse Agent involves loading and unloading cargo, receiving, delivering, and physically handling freight and company material, export at designated docks, completing necessary forms and messages, routine cleaning, monitoring security, and reporting any breaches or suspicious occurrences.
Responsibilities
Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouse.
Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.
Build up cargo for outbound flights.
Break down cargo from import flights.
Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks.
May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks.
Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo.
Confirm Dangerous Goods (DG) have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specific procedure for DG shipments when received, including when shipment is abandoned by consignee.
Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with or without assistance of sight or visual aids.
Minimum Requirements
HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Joining the TWU and paying union dues is required.
Preferred Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions as well as environmental conditions.
Ability to distinguish colors, red, green, and yellow.
