Payroll Specialist
to join our North America team and play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations.
As part of our Core Services team, you will take ownership of payroll processes that support our U.S. and Canadian workforce.

What You’ll Do
As the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the full payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an excellent employee experience. Key responsibilities include:
Core Payroll Processing
Administer payroll for U.S. and Canada employees, including multi‑state and provincial payrolls.
Process exempt and non‑exempt payroll cycles, including biweekly/semi-monthly and off‑cycle runs.
Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes accurately.
Assist with managing all withholding, state and local tax licenses and certificates are up to date.
Prepare and validate direct deposits and pay summaries.
Compliance & Accuracy
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and provincial payroll laws and tax regulations.
Ensure compliance with FLSA guidelines and Canadian employment standards.
Update and audit employee information in the HRIS for accuracy and completeness.
Communication & Collaboration
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
Partner with HR, Accounting, Operations, and Senior Leadership to resolve issues promptly.
Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally with all levels of the organization.
Process Ownership & Reporting
Take the lead on payroll workflow improvements and documentation.
Own monthly payroll reporting and support accounting with reconciliations.
Prepare payroll‑related reports for audits, benefits, and management reviews.
What You Bring
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail with exceptional accuracy.
Paylocity Experience; Blue Marble experience ideal but not required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, follow up, and manage deadlines effectively.
Analytical mindset with strong numerical and technical aptitude.
Ability to take ownership, lead processes, and problem‑solve independently.
Client‑centric approach and professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications
3+ years of payroll administration experience preferred.
Experience with multi‑state U.S. payroll; Canadian payroll experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
Knowledge of payroll regulations, taxes, benefits and compliance standards.
