Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations within a fast-paced construction environment. This role will focus on job cost accounting, project reporting, and assisting with month-end close.
What You will Do:
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger.
Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close.
Support
job cost accounting
including tracking project expenses and budgets.
Analyze project costs, variances, and profitability.
Assist with
WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules
and revenue recognition.
Partner with project managers on billing, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
Support AP/AR related to subcontractors, vendors, and progress billing.
Assist with audits and maintain accurate financial documentation.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in
construction or project-based environment .
Experience with
job costing and WIP reporting .
Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar plus).
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
Understanding of GAAP and percentage-of-completion accounting preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
