Job Description
The American Red Cross is hiring a phlebotomist to assist with the blood collection process. \
You will collaborate with a team to transport and set up equipment at donation sites, create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals. \

Key Responsibilities
Personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning.
Maintain detailed orientation throughout the day to ensure the collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
Drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites; position may require a minimum height of 60 inches.
Standard Schedule (Watertown, New York)
Variable hours, Monday‑through‑Friday or Tuesday‑through‑Saturday schedule.
Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance.
Pay Information
Starting rate $20.03/hr.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, and the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; position may require a minimum height of 60 inches.
Basic computer skills are required; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
Prior leadership experience.
