Data Platform Administrator
SharkNinja’s Data Platform Administrator will support and evolve our Snowflake‑centric data ecosystem, ensuring it remains reliable, scalable, secure, and governed. The role focuses on infrastructure, governance, and collaboration with data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML teams to meet growing data, analytics, and AI needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage platform performance and scalability, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability while troubleshooting and resolving system bottlenecks.
Implement and enforce role‑based access control (RBAC) and data governance, security, and compliance policies, supporting SOX controls, auditing, and access reviews.
Manage user and service account access, including role provisioning, access requests, and lifecycle management in alignment with security and compliance requirements.
Support user access reviews (UAR) and audit processes by maintaining accurate role assignments, access controls, and supporting documentation.
Monitor and optimize Snowflake usage and costs, including warehouse utilization, workload and query performance optimization, and data lifecycle and storage optimization.
Support and monitor Snowflake AI capabilities, ensuring appropriate governance, performance, and cost controls as these features are adopted.
Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and AI/ML teams to ensure the data platform supports and scales with roadmap initiatives and evolving data needs.
Contribute to documentation, standards, and operational best practices for platform usage and governance.
Support data platform operations, including incident response and ongoing system reliability.
Qualifications
Must‑Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of experience working with modern data platforms, with 2+ years of hands‑on experience in Snowflake.
Strong understanding of Snowflake Intelligence features.
Experience implementing and managing RBAC and data access controls.
Experience with dbt, including model development, testing, and deployment workflows.
Proven experience with cost monitoring and optimization in cloud data platforms.
Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Ability to troubleshoot data platform issues and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice‑to‑Haves
Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification.
Experience supporting regulatory and data compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR), including audit controls, access reviews, and data privacy considerations in cloud data platforms.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Experience with data observability or monitoring tools.
Experience working in Agile environments and ticket‑driven workflows, using tools such as Jira.
Salary and Compensation
Annual salary range: $135,000 – $165,000 USD.
