CDL Driver – Heavy Haul

Job Overview
Hi‑Way Paving is a general contractor specializing in concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields. We are seeking a local Heavy Haul CDL Driver in Nashville, TN who will operate low‑boy trailers and other construction equipment.
What You’ll Do
Safely operate a low‑boy trailer to transport construction equipment.
Move equipment between job sites, yard locations, and batch plants.
Perform secure loading, unloading, and proper load tie‑down procedures.
Operate water trucks, vacuum trucks, dump trucks, and other equipment when needed.
Assist with basic field support tasks.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks.
Coordinate with supervisors and field teams to ensure efficient equipment flow.
Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
Requirements
Heavy haul / low‑boy trailer experience.
Manual transmission experience.
Proven experience with load securement (chains, binders, blocking/bracing) in compliance with DOT standards.
Strong focus on safety, precision, and equipment care.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, field‑based environment.
Previous experience contributing to a concrete paving crew at airfields or airports (preferred).
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A).
Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high‑security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
