Job Details

• Assignment Dates: June 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,830 - $8,090 (competitive locum tenens pay for cardiothoracic surgeons)
• Setting: Hospital-based, Level II Trauma Center - cardiac surgery and CTICU coverage
• Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 8-hour days
• Call: Night call approximately 12-13 shifts per month
• Duration: 13 weeks (locum tenens contract)
• Location: Atlantic City, NJ 08401 - New Jersey cardiac surgery job / travel physician opportunity

Qualifications & Requirements

• Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Cardiac Surgeon)
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active New Jersey medical license (NJ) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in adult cardiac surgery (CABG, valve surgery, revascularization)
• Available to start by June 1, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform adult cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), off-pump CABG, arterial revascularization, and redo coronary revascularization (with or without heart valve surgery)
• Perform additional procedures such as pericardial window as needed
• Participate in hospital rounding and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including PA support in the OR, nurse practitioners, and CTICU intensivists
• Document patient care using PowerChart (Cerner)
• Provide scheduled night call coverage as part of the locum tenens assignment
