Salary: $3,653.85 - $4,269.24 Biweekly ($95,000.10 - $111,000.24 annually)

Responsibilities

Apply legal expertise to handle litigation, research Medicaid issues, conduct discovery, and prepare pleadings and briefs.

Represent the Agency in litigation matters in State and Federal Courts.

Manage bankruptcy and procurement matters on behalf of the Agency.

Maintain close communication with all personnel involved in suits and keep the office informed of major decision points.

Prepare and review all necessary legal documents, including facts and law research for each case.

Identify potential legal problems for the Agency and provide proposed legal advice.

Act as a consultant to office personnel, reviewing documents, rules, manuals, and legislation.

Collaborate with Agency personnel to develop, review, and implement legislation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of bankruptcy laws.

Knowledge of procurement laws.

Knowledge of legal terminology and Florida laws and legal procedure.

Skill in reading comprehension, analysis, research, and organization.

Ability to provide legal counsel and interpret state and federal legislation, laws, and rules.

Ability to employ legal reasoning and foresee possible legal problems.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Ability to take action in ambiguous situations and initiate independent research projects.

Diplomatic public interaction skills.

Planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Florida Bar Membership in Good Standing.

Two years of professional experience in the practice of law.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements

Florida Bar License.
