About the Role
Colombo & Colombo is a full‑service business law firm seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a dynamic litigation and corporate transactions practice. You will work directly with an attorney serving small to mid‑sized businesses across the full spectrum of their legal needs — from buying and selling companies to employment disputes, general litigation, and state agency proceedings.
What You Will Do
Prepare, file, and manage pleadings in state and federal courts
File corporate documents with state agencies (articles of incorporation/organization, UCC filings)
Assemble transaction documents, including schedules and exhibits
Manage calendars, correspondence, and deadlines with precision
Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court staff, and agency personnel
What You Bring
3+ years of legal assistant experience (required)
Working knowledge of state and federal court procedures and protocols
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with Adobe; experience with Netdocs and Tabs3 is a plus
Exceptional grammar, proofreading, and transcription skills
Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
A collaborative mindset with the initiative to work independently when needed
Compensation
Commensurate with experience.
