OG works in partnership with industry, academia, DOE national laboratories, and others on research, development, and demonstration activities focused on technology R&D, pilots, and demonstrations, both within the enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) and hydrothermal resources space.

This position would support work in one of the three following portfolios:

Technology Research and Development: Assesses ways to improve geothermal exploration, drilling, materials, and power conversion, and looks at post‑power uses like critical materials from geothermal brines.

Pilots and Demonstrations: Focuses on enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) demonstration projects as well as reservoir improvements for EGS and thermal energy storage.

Commercial Scale‑Up: Works to bolster geothermal permitting processes, modeling tools and capabilities, awareness of geothermal energy and understanding of its value to the grid, and the geothermal workforce.
