Turner Industries has an opening for a

Materials Manager

to join our team in the New Iberia, LA area. The Materials Manager manages employees that receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products. Exempt role; Reports to the Site Manager and/or Project Manager; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Qualification Standards

High school or equivalent

Preferably one (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill

Basic computer skills preferred

Excellent organizational skills

Advanced knowledge of industrial materials and goods

Good leadership and mentoring skills

Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy

Comply with company and client job site safety requirements

Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of conveyors, cranes, hoists, or industrial trucks; applying knowledge of plant layout and material-handling equipment and procedures; studies receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for material handling activities; may confer with supervisors of other departments to coordinate the flow of materials or products; may verify or prepare records, such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders; maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 100 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
